TREATMENT BACKGROUND
Hyperhidrosis more frequently referred to as excessive sweating, is a common condition which affects both men and women. It is a long-term condition that can understandably make people feel self-conscious. Botulinum toxin is now widely used as a sustainable and effective treatment for hyperhidrosis. The procedure consists of injecting small amounts of the drug into around 20 sites of the sweat gland that requires treatment, with the most common of these being the armpit.
DOES IT HURT?
A very fine needle is used which means any pain that is experienced is only ever minimal. It is often compared to that of a pin prick. Numbing cream can be applied to the area beforehand to help further minimise any pain.
SIDE EFFECTS
Possible side effects include redness and itching at the site of injections, but these are known to pass within a few hours. There is no downtime and it can take up 7 days to notice the full results. As with all treatments we provide an aftercare pack which contains further information about your treatment. This will include guidance and advice on follow up injections.
